HHO (The Henry Hadaway Organisation) became one of the first independent music companies in the UK to have over 25 labels worldwide and attain a truly international profile. The company also became the first independent label, British or otherwise, to enjoy a number 1, 2 and 3 in the singles charts and number 1 and 2 in the album charts in one quarter year period in Japan and the Far East. Hadaway also enjoyed success in North America with the Christmas album titled "Turned on Christmas" by The Henry Hadaway Orchestra and Chorus, released on the New York based RCA Records.

Through a deal with Florida based impresario Mike Winters (known for his success as a veriety act with his brother Bernie), Hadaway became responsible for the catalogues of Church Street Station and Rock N Roll Palace audio and visual series, which attracted superstar names such as Tammy Wynette and Jerry Lee Lewis. Together with other acquisitions, HHO amassed a large back catalogue of music, which has been said to be one of the largest owned by an independent. As well as licensing to third parties, Hadaway set up new labels including HHO Licensing, Javelin, Blitz and Retro Multimedia to release the material. He also went into magazine publishing, releasing a broad range of titles, including Replay - the first popular music CD-cover mounted magazine - Exposed and Jazz on CD.
